School district hires human resources director

The Churchill County School District has hired a new director of human resources.

Cameron Sorensen, a Churchill County High School graduate, received his master’s degree in human resources management.

During the past six years, he worked in the private sector specializing in HR consulting, project management, data analysis and operations.

In his career, Sorensen led national onboarding initiatives for a public accounting firm by enhancing the onboarding process for more than 500 new hires annually. As an HR consultant, he has managed projects across all HR functions, including talent acquisition, payroll, performance management and HR technology implementations.

Sorensen said he looks forward to bringing his experience into the role for the school district to help cultivate a positive, productive and result-driven HR function.

Additionally, Sorensen said he’s excited to return to Fallon where he looks forward to reconnecting with friends and family and contributing to the community that played a significant role in his development.
