Obituary: "Bill" William Earl Leonard

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday for "Bill" William Earl Leonard, 72, a Gardnerville resident for the past six years, at St. Gall Catholic Church, 1343 Centerville Lane in Gardnerville with the Rev. John Corona to be the Celebrant.

A rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Gall Catholic Church. Public visitation will be from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. at St. Gall Catholic Church.

Mr. Leonard died Oct. 18, 2000, at his residence. He was born Feb. 27, 1928, in New York City to Earle Leonard and Anna Beckman. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two grandchildren.

Mr. Leonard married Agnes L. Haiss June 30, 1951, in the Bronx, N.Y.

He was a graduate of New York University where he received a BS degree in business.

Prior to living in Gardnerville, he resided in South Lake Tahoe.

Mr. Leonard was an avid sports fan who loved the New York Yankees.

He was manager of several branches of City Bank in New York City.

Mr. Leonard was a life member of the Knights of Columbus in South Lake Tahoe.

He was a member of St. Gall Catholic Church.

Mr. Leonard served in the U.S. Army in Seoul, Korea.

Among his survivors are his wife Agnes L. Leonard of Gardnerville; sons James Leonard of Spring Valley, N.Y., Thomas Leonard of South Lake Tahoe, Richard Leonard of Hampton, N.J. and Michael Leonard of Spring Valley; daughters Patricia Heffner of South Lake Tahoe, Kathleen Koslovsky of Canton, Mich., Theresa Dombroski of Hohokus, N.J., Ann Koslovsky of Longmont, Colo. and Elizabeth Zanosky of Park Ridge, N.J.; brother Donald Leonard of Pawcatuck, Conn., and 21 grandchildren.

Cremation is under the direction of FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville is in charge of arrangements.
