The Silver State Volleyball Club is looking to add several players. The club is comprised of girls in grades 7-12 from the Carson City, Douglas, Fallon, Tahoe and Reno areas.

The Silver State Club is designed to provide athletes with an enhanced chance to earn a college athletic scholarship through participation in advanced training and tournament play. The Silver State 17-Gold team recently competed in the Kickoff Classic in Southern California, where more than 100 college coaches were in attendance.

The team will travel to Las Vegas in mid-February to participate in a tournament that will draw more than 200 college coaches. Younger age groups participate primarily in tournaments in the Sacramento area.

CLINIC OFFERED

The club will also offer a youth clinic from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9. Cost is $20.

An open gym for adults will be held from 6:30 to 11 p.m. Saturday as well. The facility is located at 4251 Highway 50 East.
