The following people were taken into custody by the Carson City Sheriff's Department and held at the Carson City Jail. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.
-- Edward James Moriarty, 36, of Carson City, unemployed, was arrested at 5:52 p.m. Friday in the 1500 block of East College Parkway for the investigation of child abuse with substantial bodily harm. Bail was set at $40,000.
-- David Anthony Borja, 39, of Carson City, a heating and air conditioning employee, was arrested at 8:25 p.m. Friday in the 2400 block of Rockbridge Drive for the investigation of possession of methamphetamines and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $2,500.
Deputies responded to the following calls Friday.

-- One grand larceny report.
-- One vehicle burglary report.
-- One fraud report.
-- One domestic battery report.
-- One larceny report.
