Marian Olive Davies, 87, a seven-year Gardnerville resident, died Aug. 11, 2006, in Carson City.

Mrs. Davies was born May 9, 1919, in South Wales, United Kingdom, to Albert Farmer and Hannah Gallent.

She married David John Davies in London in 1952.

Before moving to Gardnerville, Mrs. Davies lived at Long Beach, Calif.

She completed 12 years of education and was a nurse and a machine shop operator and inspector.

She was a member of the Church of England.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son Geoffrey David Davies; and brothers Arthur and Cedric Farmer.

Among her survivors are her son Anthony John Davies of Gardnerville; sisters Madge Jones of South Wales and Flora Murray of England; brothers Colin Farmer of Perth, Australia, and Mostyn Farmer of South Wales; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation will take place at FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City. FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
