Victims in fatal crash identified

The Nevada Highway Patrol has released the names of two people killed in the rollover accident Thursday morning on Deer Run Road.

Eric Christopher Thompson, 18, of Carson City, and Ashley Mary Lucille Masek, 20, of Carson City were killed in the wreck at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

Thompson was the front seat passenger in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Masek, the back seat passenger, survived the wreck but succumbed to her injuries as paramedics prepared to transport her by Care Flight helicopter from the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, Billy Joe Thompson, no relation to the passenger, was not injured in the accident.
