A graveside service for Bonnie E. Palmer, 96, a former Carson City resident, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Winnemucca Cemetery.

Mrs. Palmer died May 14, 2006, at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Glasgow, Mo. She was born Sept. 13, 1909, in Blue Ridge, Ga., to Jasper and Josephine Bailey Earley.

She married Oliver Cromwell Maxwell in October 1935. She married Reuben Palmer on July 7, 1961.

She worked as an licensed practical nurse in Denver, Reno and Winnemucca until her retirement.

She moved from Carson City to Slater, Mo., in 1997.

She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, the Eastern Star, and the AARP.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Jan. 16, 1942, and her second husband on Dec. 7, 1975; brother, Rufus Earley; son-in-law Jeff Brandon; daughter-in-law Jean Maxwell and one grandson.

Among her survivors are her son Oliver Maxwell of Resida, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law George and Phyllis Maxwell of Carson City; daughter, Lucy Brandon of Slater, Mo.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Memorial donations may be made to the Colonial Manor Nursing Home or the Slater Senior Center in Missouri.

Weiker Funeral Home in Slater, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
