Arra Dean Rickards, 68, a 13-year resident of Mound House, died May 22, 2006, at his home.

Mr. Rickards was born May 27, 1937, in Wichita, Kan., to Louis Rickards and Jan Hobbs. He married Marion Brown on May 9, 1964, in Van Nuys, Calif.

Before moving to Mound House, he lived in Kings Beach, Calif.

He attended Reseda High School in Reseda, Calif., and was a PAC Bell installer. He served in the U.S. Army and received a good conduct medal and was a sharpshooter.

He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Orra Jean Rickards.

He is survived by his parents of Jacks Valley; his wife of Mound House; daughter, Katee Kirk; sons and daughters-in-law Tony and Dora Rickards of Dayton and Tommy and Kelly Rickards of Carson City; brothers Robert of Thousand Oaks, Calif., William of Minden and Dennis of Klamath, Ore.; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Inurnment will be at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
