City seeks residents to volunteer on three panels. Carson City Board of Supervisors decide from among the applicants which ones ultimately will be appointed.

• The Carson City Library Board of Trustees has one opening. Its members oversee all policy and budget issues, and the duties require a commitment of up to eight hours a month. Applicants must be Carson City residents and registered voters. The term expires June 2009.

• The Redevelopment Authority Citizens Committee seeks three residents to serve as "Citizens at Large." Members make recommendations to the authority - the Board of Supervisors - about the city's redevelopment zones. The posts require up to 10 hours of commitment each month. All applicants must be registered voters. One term expires in January 2008 and the two others in January 2010.

• The Historic Resources Commission has an opening for someone who owns property and resides in the city's historic district. People involved with group review and make decisions about projects in the district, and provide recommendations about the city's historic resources to the planning commission and board of supervisors. Expect to spend 10 hours each month on this endeavor. The term ends in January 2011.

To obtain an application for any of these volunteer positions, contact Rose Gardner in the executive office at City Hall, 887-2100 or e-mail her at rgardner @ci.carson-city.nv.us. The deadline to apply for the library opening is Wednesday while those interested in the other groups have until Dec. 15.
