John Edward Oddieo

John Edward Oddieo, 67, a 13-year Washoe Valley resident, died on Aug. 31, 2006.

Mr. Oddieo was born in Bridgeport, Calif., on June 17, 1939, to Louie Francis Oddieo and Edna Oddieo.

He previously lived in Boulder City.

Mr. Oddieo married Dorothy, on July 4, 1959, in Hawthorne.

He was chief maintenance engineer at the Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas for 31 years, retiring in 1992. He served in U.S. Army in the Korean War.

He enjoyed riding his horses and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Debra P. and Kevin Adams of Reno; son and daughter-in-law, Larry W. and Juanita Oddieo of Boulder City; sister, Betty June Tarrant of Elko; brother, Ronnie Keith Oddieo of Carson City; and four grandchildren.

A private memorial service was held. Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
