Anthony 'Tony' Barbish

A celebration of life service for Anthony Barbish, 83, a 13-year Gardnerville resident will be Aug. 25. For details call 265-6678.

Mr. Barbish died July 19, 2007, in Gardnerville. He was born Oct. 30, 1923, to Anton and Mary Barbish in Coverdale, Pa. Prior to moving to Gardnerville he lived in Granada Hills, Calif.

He married Cyreitha E. Reese on July 29, 1946, in Oakmont, Pa. He was a foreman for a concrete plant and served in the U.S. Navy as a Machinist Mate 2nd Class on the cruiser USS San Francisco.

He was preceded in death by his wife on Sept. 13, 1994, in Gardnerville; daughter, Joan L. Barbish July 19, 1959, in Brakenridge, Pa.; brother, Philip Barbish in 1928 and granddaughter, Tina J. Barbish July 27, 1981, in Pacoima, Calif.

Among his survivors are daughters Bonnie A. Reilly of Palmdale, Calif., Connie A. Clark of Eagle, Idaho, Jean E. Langness of Colorado Springs, Colo., Toni M. Armstrong of Simi Valley, Terri L. Stoffer and Carol L. Barbish of Gardnerville; brothers, Paul Barbish of Butler, Pa., Alan Barbish of Canton, Ohio; sisters, Lillian Barbish and Phylis M. Stienstra of Butler, Pa.; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Cremation took place at FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City.
