Man arrested in revenge stabbing

A Carson City man who was angry over being teased allegedly stabbed his provoker in the back, an official said Friday.

Carl Wayne Fausett, 50, was booked into the Carson City Jail at 1:53 a.m. Thursday on suspicion of felony battery with a deadly weapon, three counts of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and felon failure to change address.

According to the police report, a 20-year-old friend of Fausett's nephew was visiting the two at their Hot Springs Road apartment about 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday when the friend began to tease Fausett.

"He didn't like it, and he took it serious and attacked," said Lt. Bob White.

White said Fausett grabbed the victim from behind, tackled him to the ground, and then stabbed him in the back, "nicking" the victim's kidney.

White said the victim had to undergo surgery to repair the injury.

Fausett was located about 1:53 a.m. at a Highway 50 East casino. During his arrest police allegedly found glass pipes, marijuana, and the knife believed used in the assault in his pockets.

White said Fausett denied stabbing the victim.

Fausett has prior felonies for robbery, attempted possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, trafficking in a controlled substance, battery with a deadly weapon and false imprisonment. As a felon, he was required to register his address with the Sheriff's Department. Though he was living on Hot Springs Road, Fausett was registered to an address on Selby Street, according to the report.

He is being held on $34,358 bail.
