Gerald M. Barden, 87, a 17-year Carson City resident, died Feb. 3, 2007, at his home.

Mr. Barden was born Feb. 27, 1919, in LaPorte, Ind., to Clarence and Dollie Barden.

He married Dorothy Male on July 16, 1941, in Glendale, Calif.

Before moving to Carson City, Mr. Barden lived in West Covina, Calif.

He was a high school graduate, and had attended Curtis Wright Tech school in Glendale.

He was an aeronautical design engineer and belonged to the Experimental Aircraft Association.

He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Gerry Barden on Nov. 12, 2004, in Titusville, Fla.

Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; sons James E. Barden of Etna, Calif., and Ronald G. Barden of Central Point, Ore.; daughter, Anne Marie Kemp of McKinney, Texas; brothers Robert Barden of Southern California and Landon Barden of Tempe, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
