A memorial service for Glenn Allen Gardner, 94, an eight-year Gardnerville resident, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at his home, 1319 Wilson Circle, Gardnerville.

Mr. Gardner died Feb. 22, 2007, at his home. He was born March 16, 1912, in Morrhead, Iowa, to John Gardner and Ethel Rush.

He married Mildred Durand Gardner on June 5, 1937, in Missoula, Mont.

Before moving to Gardnerville, Mr. Gardner lived in Lincoln City, Ore.

He worked for the Social Security Administration, attended one year of college, and served in the U.S. Coast Guard.

He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Floyd, Curtis, Lynn and Marvin Gardner; and sisters Opal DeLance and Regina Gardner.

Among his survivors are his wife of Gardnerville; daughter, Camille Scharo of Gardnerville; sister, Corrine Bavart; one grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation will take place at FitzHenry's Crematory. Burial will take place at Mottsville Cemetery.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
