United Blood Service offers free cholesterol screenings

United Blood Service has declared March Donor Appreciation Month. Donors will receive a special "Got Blood?" T-shirt and a certificate for a free six-inch sandwich from Subway. Fire department will hold terrorist training exercise today

The Carson City Fire Department will be holding a Mass Casualty/Terrorist emergency training exercise 9 a.m.-1 p.m. today at the city's corporate yard, 3303 Butti Way. The scenario will involve a school bus filled with Carson High students being "hijacked." The gunman takes the bus driver and students hostage and recklessly speeds through the community. Many aid units will be participating in this training exercise, and students from Carson High will portray injured victims. For information, call 887-2220 ext. 1018.

Deadline for Footprinter's reservations today

Wine 101 class series continues tonight

Theater group to show 'Charlotte's Web'

Wild Horse Children's Theater and The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada present "Charlotte's Web" at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada, 813 N. Carson St.

Show dates are Friday and Saturday, March 16-17 and 23-24 at 7 p.m. and March 10-11, 17-18, 24-25 at 2 p.m.

The Children's Literature Association named this "the best American children's book of the past 200 years," and Joseph Robinette, working with the advice of E.B.

'Blackjack Bottom' to open Friday

"Blackjack Bottom," the Carson Valley Community Theatre's latest production, will open at 6:30 p.m. Friday. There will be shows Friday and Saturday, and March 23 and 24. Doors open at 6:30; dinner is at 7, and the show starts at 8. There will be one matinee March 25 with doors opening at 1:30 p.m. and the show starting at 2. For information, call 782-3670.
