Thomas Morris Snyder, 82, a third-generation native Nevadan and 33-year Minden resident, died May 7, 2007, in Las Vegas.

Mr. Snyder was born Aug. 9, 1924, in Yerington, to Morris and Pauline Snyder.

He married Betty Snyder in 1969, in Carson City.

He worked for the State of Nevada before retiring from the Department of Transportation.

He served in the U.S. Army in World War II.

He enjoyed golf and humor.

He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Jerry Snyder.

Among his survivors are his wife, of Minden; son Scott Snyder of Washoe Valley; daughter Ann Peckham of Yuma, Ariz.; stepchildren Gary Johnson of Hawaii, Donna Johnson of San Diego, and Bonnie Johnson of Minden; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life is planned for a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Hilltop Community Church, P.O. Box 2025, Carson City, NV 89702.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
