Galena volleyball beats Carson

The Galena High volleyball team outlasted Carson for a 25-22, 16-25, 25-21, 15-25, 15-7 win on Friday at Galena.

Emily Aguiar had 12 kills and 13 blocks, Brooke Keever had 12 kills and 17 digs, Rebecca Pate had six kills and 15 digs, Casey Burke had four kills, Megan Fincher had 16 assists, Bree Crook had 18 assists and 10 digs, Anna Maestre had 20 digs and Emily Burns and Kim Naut each had six blocks for Galena. Stats for Carson were not reported.


Yerington (24-13, 7-2 in the Northern 3A) beat Fernley 25-21, 25-10, 25-10, Kayla Lommori had 21 kills, one ace and a block, Angela Marracini had nine kills, Kiara Ross had four kills, two aces, 13 assists and three blocks, Rani Williams had three kills and a block, Dama Cox had two kills, Bre Tognoli had two kills, an ace and 26 assists, Trinity Thom had a block and Mari Clifton had one ace for Yerington.


Carson won the junior varsity match 25-19, 25-18. Brittney Wyatt had one ace and three digs, Alexis Church had two aces and four digs, Skylar Peterson had two kills, Meagan Nuckolls had one block and five assists, Sara Anderson had nine assists, Shelby Price had one block and one kill, Brittney Sly had one dig, two blocks and four kills, Karli Dodge had one block, four kills and three digs, Sarah Kerkla had three aces, two kills and two digs, Natalia Pecorilla had five aces, one block, two kills and four digs and Kendra Krupp had one dig, one block and two kills.


Carson (13-1) won the freshmen match 25-17, 25-19. Jazmine Stokes had three aces, three kills and four digs, Elizabeth Bennett-Doran had three aces, one kill and two digs, Breann Perry had nine points, five assists and three digs, Bailey Young had one ace, six kills and four assists, Ashley Elliott had three kills, Jeanette VanSickle had two kills and a block, Kristi Shaffer had two aces and three digs, Elysse Virden had one block and Kleine Hernandez had five digs for Carson.
