Today's weather will be sunny with highs around 97 with light winds becoming southeast up to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight, clear in the evening becoming partly cloudy with a slight chance of thunderstorms after midnight. Lows in the mid-60s with west winds 10-15 mph.

Saturday, breezy and partly cloudy with highs around 94 with southwest winds 10-15 mph shifting to the west 15-25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday night, breezy and partly cloudy in the evening becoming clear with lows around 60 with southwest winds 15-25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

Sunday, sunny in the morning then partly cloudy with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon with highs around 77 with west winds 10-15 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

Sunday night, partly cloudy with lows around 48.

Labor Day, clear with highs around 74.

Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays, mainly Fairview Drive between Roop Street and South Lompa Lane, primarily between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., and Highway 50 East between Airport Road and Saliman Road.

Resurfacing continues on Highway 50; traffic controls are in effect during all hours of the day with lane variations.

The closure of westbound Fairview Drive from Saliman Road to Roop Street is in effect through Aug. 31. Alternate routes of travel are Colorado Street to the south, and Little Lane to the north.

Traffic will be controlled at times; alternate routes are advised.

Road work also continues on Hot Springs Road from Northridge to Roop Street. Traffic will be controlled at times; alternate routes are advised.

The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 6:08 a.m. all roads open with no controls.
