Road controls and weather outlook for Friday

The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 6:15 a.m. the following road controls:

Interstate 80 " Chains required except for four-wheel drive vehicles for 69.9 miles between Colfax, Calif. and 0.7 miles east of the California state line.

Snow tires or chains required for 3.6 miles between 0.7 miles east of the California state line and 0.6 miles west of Garson Road.

Highway 395 " Road closed due to high wind warning from Lake View Drive through Washoe Valley to Winters Ranch. Chains or snow tires required from Winters Ranch to Washoe Hill.

Highway 50 " Chains or snow tires required between the California state line and south Carson City at Highway 395.

Today's weather calls for mostly cloudy skies with scattered snow showers in the morning and highs from 30-40 with west winds 15-20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph, decreasing to 10-15 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight, mostly cloudy with lows 15-25 and west winds 5-15 mph.
