Raising catfish: Farmer Treadway was presented several young catfish by Fish Commissioner Parker. For a long while he paid no attention to them, until yesterday, he looked into the reservoir and found the water alive with little pollywogs ... they had spawned with what will be thousands of young catfish.

Carson will host the Area 2 Babe Ruth All-Star baseball. Carson's 14 to 15 year olds all stars are: Toby Basta, John Borda, Chad Dahbert, David Dodson, Don Furtado, Matt Huntzinger, David Kingtree, Dan Larkin, George Mejia, John Musgrave, Aaron Rajs, David Sharp, John Sullivan, Gary Tarr and Nate Yeskie.

The Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management assisted with an exchange of the 47-acre Dreyfus Estate at Zephyr Cove for public land outside of Las Vegas.
