Cancer 101 seminar to be presented

School hosts bingo and chili cookoff

Carson Middle School will hosts its annual Bingo and Chili Cookoff Fundraiser, 5:30 p.m., Friday, March 27, 1140 W. King St. Bingo and raffle prizes will be awarded throughout the evening. $50 prize and a trophy for the top chili chef. Chili tasting is $5. Hot dogs, desserts and refreshments also will be available. Proceeds benefit the PTA special projects fund. Club hosts 'March Madness' dance

High Sierra Swing Dance Club presents its monthly dance, "March Madness," Saturday, March 28, Brewery Arts Center Grand Ballroom, 449 W. King St. Ken Bowers will teach a Beyond Basics West Coast swing lesson at 7 p.m., with a social dance following from 8-10:30 p.m. Deejay Gina Child will play a mix of dance music: West and East Coast swing, ballroom, country and Latin. Lesson cost is $7 for members of any swing club and $10 for nonmembers; dance is $7 for club members and $10 for nonmembers. Join the club that night, and get into the dance free. Early childhood screenings offered

The Carson City School District and Nevada Early Intervention Services are conducting ongoing screenings to identify children who may have developmental delays. This free service is available to children ages birth to 5 years old who are unable to talk or perform tasks like other children their age, for children who are not meeting normal developmental milestones, and for children who may have other special needs. To be eligible for the 3- to 5-year-old screening, children must reside in Carson City. For a child ages birth to 3 years old, call 687-0100, and for a child who is 3-5 years old, call 283-2302.
