Out & About: Thankfulness

As you're preparing for your family and friends to come over and enjoy annual traditions and festivities ask yourself what is thankfulness?

Today appreciate what wonders you have to be thankful, especially your beautiful family and friends. Surround yourself with positive thoughts and actions. What's more important in life then the people you are lucky enough to have surrounding you. As you sit down, be blessed in your health, the birth of a new family member, your job.

Focus today on all the positives. It has been a rough year on everyone and many have lost so much. It amazes me that people facing tragedy and a series of losses still find a way to be thankful. I talked to someone who lost her grandfather and she was thankful she had quality time enjoying all the moments she could until he took his last breath. Another recently lost their home and said, "But we have family and they said move in with us. We will get through as a family."

Yes, my cup is full today and cheers to you and yours. May you find peace in knowing that being thankful is a true gift. Happy Thanksgi-ving!

Foster Home Support

You are invited to the annual St. Nicholas Day Gift Card Give Away Day Party. This event is to collect gift cards for children in foster care. You can purchase a gift card from any local retailer for a child, birth to 18 years of age, or make a cash contribution. I recommend Walmart, Best Buy, Burlington Coat Factory, Payless Shoe Source and, for entertainment fun, try movie theater gift certificates -a total treat for a child in care. The perfect holiday gift

The first edition of Carsonopoly is here and can be the perfect holiday gift for friends and family. Each game is $25, and benefits Carson Area Wellness Association, a local non-profit that aims to promote and improve wellness. CAWA envisions a future of health achieved through education, collaboration, research, and policy development.

This custom game board set is similar to the traditional Monopoly board game but features locations and scenery from Carson City.
