Connie Murata Schneider of Minden, Nev., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. Connie was born on August 11, 1942, in Oakland, Calif., the daughter of William and Fern Irene Potter. After living in New York, Long Beach, Calif., and the San Francisco Bay Area, Connie came to the Carson Valley more than 20 years ago.
Connie enjoyed many occupational pursuits throughout her life including nursing, pastry chef, rancher and homemaker. Some of her hobbies were travel, backpacking, fishing, skiing, biking, knitting, golf and cooking.
A Celebration Mass will be held to honor her at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 15, 2009, at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville.
Connie is survived by her loving husband William Schneider; children Stephanie and Patrick Murata of Minden, Alessandra Murata and finance Michael Scott of New York, and Scott Murata of Sacramento, Calif.; sister and brother-in-law Billie Jean and Ron Chisick of Wilton, Calif.; sister Joanne Potter and her partner Alando Malave of San Lorenzo, Calif.; and brother Stephen Potter of Chandeler, Ariz.; and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers those wishing may donate to the charity of their choice.s
