More sport at Moore's: Furlong and Morgan have determined to give the boys more sport Saturday. Morgan has secured two lynxes, one of which weighs 50 pounds. He will pit the lynx against the bear until one animal is dead. Furlong's dog will also fight a lynx until one or the other has had enough.

100 YEARS AGO

Austin merchants are feeling the season with prosperity not seen in the town for many months. Further inquiry shows the increase of work in the district with a better payroll. The other main reason, of equal importance, was the abolition of gambling, in effect for a month and a half.

70 YEARS AGO

Nevada counties will continue to stock streams with beaver, agricultural officials said today. Beavers are the original soil conservationists and help prevent flooding.

50 YEARS AGO

County engineer Joe Littlefield will attend the state highway advisory board meeting in Las Vegas. County commissioners will set forth their opinions on decisions pending before the state highway board.

10 YEARS AGO

Three Carson City youngsters are heading to the west coast finals of the Boys & Girls Club Punt, Pass and Kick competition. Winning was Savannah Flansburg, Blake Davidson and Matt Rutledge.
