Elaine M. Stufflebeam, 80, passed away February 11, 2010, at her residence in Carson City with her family by her side. Elaine was born May 30, 1929, in Loveland, Colo., to John and Katherine Steigmann. She was the youngest of nine children.
Elaine worked as an apartment manager for 14 years, retiring in 1990.
On June 2, 1990, Elaine married Herb Stufflebeam. They were married for 18 years until his death on October 30, 2007. Elaine was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Allen Merrill ,who was killed in an automobile accident in 1971. All of her brothers and sisters have also passed away except one brother, Walter Steigmann.
Elaine will be dearly missed by her daughter Sari Ann Gipe and her husband Ron of Reno; her son David Lee Merrill of Carson City; and step-grandson Taylor Gipe of Greenville, Calif.
As per her wishes, there will not be any services.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of her final arrangements.
