Members of the Carson Tigersharks swim team enjoyed success at last weekend's Fall Frenzy at the Carson Aquatic Center.

Kaly Branco (11-12), Eli Everest (13-14), Abby Pittman (15-18), Gino Goggiano (7-8), Bret Kolb and Jacob Clark (9-10), and Dagen Kipling (11-12) were the top Tigershark performers.

Goggiano won the 25-yard backstroke (25.67), placed second in the 50 backstroke (55.35), was fourth in the 25 freestyle (22.01), fourth in the 50 free style (52.66). third in the 100 freestyle 1:59.79 and fifth in the 25 butterfly (35.32).

Kolb won the 100 backstroke (1:27.31), took third in the 100 free (1:16.34), third in the 50 free (34.33), took third in the 50 backstroke (41.40), was sixth in the 50 butterfly (43.78), was second in the 100 butterfly (1:41.37) and fifth in the 100 IM (1:29.62).

Clark finished second in the 100 backstroke (1:28.57) and 50 backstroke (40.05), third in the 100 IM (1:26.56) and 200 IM (3:10.78), fourth in the 50 free (34.40), 100 free (1:19.95) and 100 Breaststroke (1:49.36), fifth in the 50 butterfly (41.94) and fifth in the 50 Breaststroke (50.33).

Kipling placed second in the 50 Breaststroke (39.14), third in the 500 freestyle (6:38.13), fifth in the 100 Breaststroke (1:28.03), sixth in the 100 IM (1:15.67) and took eighth in the 50 back (36.34). He also placed 10th in the 100 free (1:10.17) and 11th in the 50 butterfly (37.09).

Branco placed fifth in the 100 back (1:14.93), sixth in the 500 free (6:28.27), fifth in the 50 back (33.71), 10th in the 200 free (2:25.29) and 18th in the 100 IM (1:18.81). Kaitlyn McDonald was fifth in the 100 breast (1:23.26).

Everest won the 1,650 free (20:12.85), was third in the 500 free (5:49.36), took fourth in the 200 free (2:09.25), was third in the 200 back (2:29.61), was fourth in the 100 free (59.81) and sixth in the 100 back (1:09.75). Vanessa Rauch had two sixths and a seventh (200 back, 100 free, 200 free) while Charlee Bradley had a fifth in the 1,650 free (22:23).

Pittman won the 500 free (5:34.33), was seventh in the 100 breast (1:16.73), was ninth in the 100 free (59.87) and 14th in the 50 free (28.58), Danielle Stanka took fourth in the 1,650 free (21:33) and eighth in the 500 free (6:10.57). Sophie Holmes had a seventh in the 200 free (2:14.36).

Kaitlyn Nelson (9-10 girls) had seven top-10 performances. Her best finishes were sixth in the 100 and 200 IM (1:29.52 and 3:16.88). Kendall McDonald (6-under) had a fifth in the 50 free (1:11.03).

In the 19 and over age group, 26-year-old Ryan Theilman won eight events, while Tim Grunert placed second in the 100 breast (1:05.58).

4H Ski & Snowboard Club

meeting at Dayton Intermediate

Dayton 4H Ski & Snowboard Club will have information and registration meetings at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 1-2 at Dayton Intermediate School multipurpose room.

The club is open to all Dayton youth ages 9 by Jan. 1 through high school. Trips to Mount Rose resort will be on Fridays for six weeks beginning Jan 7. Transportation by charter bus, lessons, lift tickets and all rental equipment are included in the cost of $280 (reduced to $255 if member provides their own equipment.)

Students must be eligible to attend: C or better in all classes, and no discipline problems at school. Parents are also invited to participate.

CHS ski team holds fundraiser

The CHS ski team will be putting on its annual fundraiser 7 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Carson City Community Center.

They will be showing the ski film Matchstick Production's "The Way I See It" at 7 p.m. and the Standard Film's "Stormin'" about snow boarding at 8 p.m.

Tickets will be available through ski team athletes or Carson Valley Sports.

Silver Oak selects

Tona Smith has been elected to serve as the new president for the Silver Oak Senior Men's Club.

Steve Alcaly was elected vice president, Dave Mills was named the handicap chairman, Dick Green was named the membership chairman and Walt Ratchford is the secretary-treasurer.

Fundraiser for CHS

wrestling program

The Carson High wrestling program is sponsoring a Texas hold'em tournament Friday at the Carson Plaza Conference Center at 7 p.m.

The cost is $50 which includes food and the initial buy-in. The cost is $25 for just food. Additional buyins are available.

There will be cash prizes for the top three finishers.

Dean's Machine holds

healthy advantage

Dean's Machine has a 16-point lead (781-765) in the Comstock Division of the Carson City chapter of the American Poolplayers Association.

Alex Gutierrez of Dean's Machine leads the 6-9 tier with 27 points, seven better than Daniel McRae of the Over the Hill Gang. Robert Wilson of Poke 'N' Hope leads by 11 points over Chester Chastain of Scratch Masters. Lawrence Gloisten of 9-Spoke and Rachel Hurt of rattlers are tied for the lead in the 1-3 tier with 26 points apiece.

Jerry's Kids leads the Mosconi Division by three points (35-32) over AltF4.

David Giovacchini of Jerry's Kids leads the 6-7 tier with 30 points, while Edwin Scrivner of Rack Busters is second with 24. Mike Snody of Cues Yer Daddy leads the 4-5 tier with 24 points, one better than Phil Jones of Jerry's Kids. Josiah Toledo of Young & Restless leads the 2-3 tier with 25 points, two better than Janice Cameron of The Spoke.

Carson Middle 8th

graders are 9-1

Carson Middle School's boys basketball team won four games in six days to run its record to 9-1.

Carson beat Carson Valley 21-20, lost to Winnemucca 29-25, topped Battle Mountain 39-14, pounded Fernley 34-15 and toppled Alder Creek 41-25.

graders remain undefeated

Carson Middle's 7th-grade basketball team posted five wins in six days to up its record to 10-0.

Carson 45 edged Carson Valley 34 and then hammered Winnemucca (40-19), Battle Mountain (48-15), Fernley (42-20) and Alder Creek (41-14).

Carson returns to action Nov. 18 against Eagle Valley.
