Carson City

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

• Lance Cowperthwaite Jr., 21, of Carson City, was arrested at 12:42 a.m. Monday at East Spear and North Stewart streets on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor failure to appear on a traffic citation and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $3,622.

• A 22-year-old grocery bagger from Carson City was arrested at 3:04 a.m. Sunday at Nye and Mountain streets on suspicion of misdemeanor failure to stop on signal of officer, reckless driving, no insurance, no valid license, driving an unregistered motorcycle. Bail was set at $2,290.

• Christina Basagoitia, 27, unemployed of Minden, was arrested at 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of East Musser Street on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine and gross misdemeanor possession of prescription drug without a prescription. Bail was set at $5,000.

• Justin Hernandez Benitez, 20, a fast-food worker from Carson City, was arrested at 9:21 a.m. Saturday in the 900 block of East Musser Street on a felony warrant for theft. Bail was set at $10,000.

• A 42-year-old pressman from Carson City was arrested at 5:07 a.m. Saturday in the 1800 block of North Edmonds Drive on suspicion of misdemeanor obstructing a peace officer and resisting arrest. Bail was set at $1,539.

• Margaret Murdock, 59, of Pleasanton, Calif., was arrested at 4:14 p.m. Friday at the U.S. Bank on North Stewart Street. According to the arrest report, Murdock was wanted by police in Pleasanton and Walnut Creek, Calif., for fraudulently cashing cashiers checks and making off with about $100,000. When Murdock entered the Carson City branch and attempted to cash a $9,100 cashier's check, the tellers recognized her from a notice sent out by bank headquarters, the report states. Upon questioning by police, Murdock, who was wearing a gray wig and plaid jacket that matched the description in the notice, said she was driven to the bank by a man named Jay. In exchange for cashing the checks for Jay, Jay would pay for Murdock's hotel rooms and beer. Murdock was arrested on suspicion of felony obtaining money under false pretenses, possession of a false ID, forgery and burglary. Her bail is set at $25,000. The investigation is ongoing.

• Michael Alan Doiel, 41, of Silver Springs, was arrested at 4:32 p.m. Friday in the 800 block of East Musser Street on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor felon failure to register.

• Domestic battery report on Sheffield Manor at 12:48 a.m.

• Fight report on North Edmonds Drive at 5:01 a.m.

• Coroner call at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center at 9:09 a.m.

Lyon County

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Sunday:

• A caller reported at 9:04 a.m. that a vehicle cut him off in Silver Springs and he followed the vehicle to the raceway in Fernley to confront the driver. The driver started yelling at the caller who in turn called police to file a report.

• A Fernley mother reported at 11:03 a.m. her daughter broke into the mother's room and stole a coin collection.

• Coroner call on Corral Drive in Dayton at 7:04 p.m.

Storey County

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded recently:

• Report of a vehicle striking a horse on USA Parkway at 1:55 a.m. Friday.

• Report of someone sustaining a leg injury Saturday after being hit by a fork lift on Ireland Drive at 5:59 a.m.

• Report of a second person hit by a fork lift Saturday sustaining an injury to an ankle on Ireland Drive at 8:57 a.m.
