Friday is a full moon and with the full moon arising, there are some great fundraising events to attend this month and next. So if you're looking for a moonlight train ride or golf fun on a moonlit golf course, check the events below.

Moonlight on the Greens Golf Tournament

Time is getting short to enter the third annual Moonlight on the Greens Golf Tournament, sponsored by the Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare Auxiliary. The Tournament will be at Silver Oak Golf Course, that's right, at night. The tournament is limited to 72 players so registration will be first-come, first-served. The auxiliary continues to work in helping the hospital and community. It's all supported by volunteers. They do an amazing job assisting the community.

WHAT: Moonlight golfing, Format is a 9-hole, four-person scramble

WHEN: Shotgun start at 7 p.m. Friday. 

WHERE: Silver Oak Golf Course

COST: $75 per person, which includes green fees and cart, catered barbecue dinner, two cocktails, range balls, glow balls, putting contest, on-course contests, tournament prizes and a raffle.

Foster Coalition of Carson City

Every child needs a safe, permanent home. What can you do to help? Bring your ideas and your friends, family, co-workers and come down to the family court house on the corner of 5th Street and Saliman Road and help local children in need of loving foster families and friends. Carson City needs more foster homes available for children placed in State of Nevada custody due to abuse or neglect. Also check out the Carson City Foster Coalition link for children in need of adoption too. Meet and read the bios of 2-year-old Alaura and her sweet little sister Makaela, who is 1 year old. If you have a huge heart, great home and lots of love, check the website below. There are many children that need a permanent home and lots and lots of love.

WHAT: Become a foster parent or help support existing foster parents and their foster children.

V&T Moonlit Train Ride in August

Soroptimist International of the Comstock is steaming up for its second annual V&T train ride. Grab a ticket and enjoy a great ride. Boarding is at the Virginia City station and the night includes appetizers, drinks and fun. There will be a raffle before leaving the station and you can win some wonderful prizes.

WHAT: Fun Moonlit ride with appetizers, drinks, desert, plus a roaring raffle

WHEN: Friday, Aug. 12. Refreshments start at 5:30 p.m.

WHERE: Virginia City

COST: $45 includes a cocktail, appetizers and desert; additional drink tickets can be purchased for $5 each or 3 for $12
