FALLON - A Fernley woman was killed this morning in a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 50 Alternate in Lyon County.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, Michelle Marie Parsley-McClelland, 22, died as result of the 8:08 a.m. accident 15 miles east of Fernley.

Nevada Highway Patrol Sgt. Tom Ames said Parsley-McClelland was eastbound in a Chevrolet Tahoe when she attempted to pass a commercial vehicle and lost control. The Tahoe rolled, ejecting Parsley-McClelland. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Her two young daughters, one of whom just turned a year old on June 8, were also in the vehicle, but were not injured.

Ames said the children were wearing seatbelts, but the mother was not.

The NHP-Northern Command Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) will be conducting the investigation and witnesses, or anyone with additional information, is encouraged to call Trooper Mike Stapledon at (775) 689-4623, or the Department of Public Safety-Communications Center at (775) 687-0400.
