A Fallon woman was injured Saturday when her vehicle overturned on U.S. Highway 95 20 miles north of Fallon, reports the Nevada Highway Patrol.

The NHP said the accident involving 25-year-old Sarah Hernandez occurred at about 3:37 p.m. near mile post 47. According to the NHP, Hernandez’s tan Suzuki XL-7 was traveling southbound and drifted off the west roadway edge. The NHP said Hernandez overcorrected to the left, causing the vehicle to rotate clockwise and travel across the highway where it eventually overturned.

Hernandez, who had minor injuries, was transported by paramedics to Banner Churchill Community Hospital and then flown to Renown Medical Center in Reno by CareFlifght.

A 4-year-old child in the vehicle was not injured, said the NHP, and was secured in a child safety seat.

The NHP issued Hernandez a citation for failure to maintain a travel lane.
