County Commissioners meet today

The County Commissioners will meet today at 1:15 p.m. at the Churchill County Administration Building chambers, 155 N. Taylor St.

Among the items commissioners will discuss and that are up for possible action include the following:

Consideration and possible action regarding a presentation on activities and update from Joseph Seidlitz, district manager of the Winnemucca District Office of the Bureau of Land Management.

Public Hearing-Consideration and possible action regarding Bill 20 14-A, Ordinance #71, an ordinance making corrections, deletions, additions, and minor revisions to Title 13 Water and Sewer, Sections 13.02.010 through 13.04.1060 and Sections 13.05.110 through 13.05.1110, Marie Henson, Churchill County building inspector, Churchill County Building Department.

Public Hearing-Consideration and possible action regarding Bill2014-B, Ordinance 7, an ordinance amending various provisions of Title 3 of the Churchill County Code, Geof Stark, director of Human Resources.

Consideration and possible action regarding Nevada Commission on Tourism Grant Approval, Danny Gleich, recreation/athletics supervisor.

Consideration and possible action regarding Resolution 09-2014 acknowledging the need for the residential construction tax and supporting the Churchill County School District’s application to the Nevada Tax Commission to renew the residential construction tax for at least the next four years, Phyllys Dowd, director of business services, Churchill County School District.

Consideration and possible action regarding presentations on groundwater levels and water-quality data collection and request to continue partnership in the Groundwater Level and Water-Quality Data Collection Project of the Newlands Area.

Presentation from U.S. Geological Survey on groundwater levels and water quality data collection of the Newlands Monitoring Project in Churchill County; B. Presentation from Chris Mahannah on groundwater levels, elevations, and vertical gradients of the Churchill County/CWSD Water Level Monitoring Program; C. U.S. Geological Survey request to continue the Ground Level and Water-Quality Data Collection in the Newlands Project Area of Churchill County.

Consideration and possible action regarding a presentation of activities and accomplishments for the Fallon Golf Course, Scott Wackowski, director of operations, Duncan Golf Management.

Consideration and possible action regarding modification, termination, or reassignment of Paul Drakulich’s contract for indigent services and reallocation of compensation for public defense services and related matters thereto.

Consideration and possible action regarding approval of publishing request for qualifications for public defender services from qualified attorneys.

Consideration and possible action regarding discussion and action on whether to direct the formulation of an ordinance banning medical marijuana establishments and other matters related thereto.

Consideration and possible action regarding Central Nevada Regional Water Authority fiscal year 2015 member assessment.
