Pizza Hut, 2441 N. Carson St., scored 99 points. The hose draining the soda dispenser extended below the air gap and into the bottom of the floor sink. The front kitchen hand sink had the water turned off because of leaks; it was also draining slowly.

Maverik, 1451 College Parkway, scored 98 points. The ice machine was dirty inside.

Panaderia el Trigal, 3189 E. Highway 50, scored 98 points. Cartons of milk were found in the reach-in with expired “use-by” dates. Papa Murphy’s Take and Bake, 1894 E. Highway 50, Suites 50 and 5, scored 97 points. There was a deposit of impacted metal shaving behind the can opener blade. The rear kitchen door was not weather stripped, and the gap was large enough to allow the entry of rodents.

Walmart, meat department, 3200 Market St., scored 97 points. Paper towels were not installed properly in the dispenser at the hand sink.

Walmart, retail grocery, 3200 Market St., scored 96 points. Two dogs were in the store; one owner claimed to have a service dog but could not explain the service it provided. The other owner admitted her dog was a “comfort” animal, which is not considered a service dog and is not allowed inside food facilities.

Walmart, deli department, 3200 Market St., scored 95 points. There was no thermometer inside or outside the salad display refrigerator. Staff clothing was stored on top of food boxes. There was no certified food handler on site.

Sonic Drive In, 1856 E. College Parkway, scored 94 points. Staff were handling sandwich buns with their bare hands. Water was present inside the sandwich make-up unit. The can opener was dirty with dried food debris. The ice scoop at the main ice machine was damaged. A staff cell phone was stored at the base of the can opener.
