Carson City Sheriff’s Office: Man arrested on felony theft

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

MONDAY

At 10:36 a.m., Richard Prendez, 34, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after deputies responded to reports of a domestic dispute near the 200 block of Mary Street. At the same incident, a 29-year-old transient woman was arrested for contempt of court. Bail for Prendez was set at $3,500 and bail for the 29-year-old was set at $2,000.

At 5:50 p.m., a 46-year-old transient man was arrested on suspicion of petit larceny and trespassing after deputies responded to reports a man taking items from the Market Street Walmart. Bail was set at $400.

TUESDAY

At 12:10 a.m., Todd Platts, 49, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony theft warrant after deputies noticed a suspicious vehicle in the Carson Street Lowes parking lot. Bail was set at $4,675.

At 1:29 a.m., a 19-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested on suspicion of minor consuming/possessing alcohol, possession of open container and driving without lights after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Washington and Valley Streets. Bail was set at $275.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes. Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 775-322-4900.
