Carson City woman seriously injured in DUI crash

A Carson City woman was seriously injured when a Lyon County man hit the vehicle she was traveling in head-on at 11:51 p.m. Friday night, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred on Highway 50, approximately six miles east of Carson City.

According to NHP, the preliminary crash investigation details indicate a blue Pontiac Grand Am driven by Dennis M. Tardif, 58, of Lyon County was westbound on US 50 in the eastbound travel lane. A white Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on Highway 50 driven by Crystal Michelle Pacheco, 38, of Carson City. Tardif, according to NHP was allegedly traveling the wrong direction in the eastbound travel lane when he struck the White Honda Civic head-on. Pacheco sustained serious injuries and was transported by Care Flight to the Renown Regional Medical Center where she’s still being treated for serious injuries.

Tardif was also transported to the Renown Regional Medical Center by Care Flight with non life threatening injuries. He was later released and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and booked into the Carson City Jail.
