Irene Whitney Baxter

Irene Whitney Baxter, 99, a long time resident of Fallon, was taken by an angel from The Homestead on Saturday the 10th of December.

Irene was born September 10, 1917 in Belleville, Kansas, where she lived 5 years, then lived 10 years in Fairbury, Nebraska, followed by 4 years in Norka, Kansas. After high school she moved to Southern California where she met and married Dean Baxter in 1948, and lived 42 years. Irene remained in Fallon after the passing of Dean in 2005.

Irene love bowling, knitting, crocheting, and homemaking.

She is survived by her niece, Barbara Stevens in Kansas; nephew, Jerry Whitney in Nebraska; and her extended family, Juanita and Kevin Porteous of Fallon, Mike O’Shea of Reno, and Eric and Robin Engebretson of Riverside, California.

She leaves behind many friends.

Irene and Dean touched many lives. Those of us who knew them will never forget them. We know they are at peace together in the heaven.
