The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and Lyon County Human Services have moved into their new building at 620 Lake Avenue in Silver Springs, said Jeff Page, county manager.

The Board of Commissioners approved the purchase of the building in 2015 from Clean-Dried Processing for $580,000.00. Page said Lyon County spent an additional $494,424.00 to remodel the interior to meet the needs of both departments.

The building is 6,800 square feet with 86,609 square feet of parking and room for expansion. The building will house the Patrol Division for Silver Springs, Narcotics Division, Detective Division and LCSO command staff as well as providing holding cells for arrested individuals. Page added the Human Services Administration and support staff will be headquartered at this facility.

Page said Lyon County is pushing toward one stop operations for the general public. This move will eventually reduce the number of county operated buildings by three, thus improving efficiency with maintenance and custodial services.
