Carson City Sierra Place offering live music, other events in January

Free events geared toward seniors are being offered this month at Sierra Place Senior Living, 111 W. College Parkway.

A weekly music series offers live entertainment at 6:45 p.m. Mondays. Gospel by Loretta Skinner is Jan. 11; piano music by Vicki Hamilton is Jan. 18; and jazz vocals by Sandra Medley is Jan. 25.

Tahoe weather historian Mark McLaughlin is presenting about El Niño and weather patterns at 10 a.m. Jan. 12.

Geri Meyer, a retired therapist, is leading a discussion group about embracing change and aging at 10 a.m. Jan. 16. Meyer’s group meets at 10 a.m. on the first and third Saturdays of the month.

String musicians Dr. George Worth and Cecelia Twain are performing live music at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 17.

Bob Nylen’s presentation, Treasures in the State Museum, is at 10 a.m. Jan. 25.
