Fallon man tabbed to key FRA position

Patrick H. LeClaire, a resident of Fallon, was recently elected and installed as West Coast Regional president (RPWC) of the fleet Reserve Association (FRA), a congressionally-charted military and veterans’ service organization serving current and former enlisted members of the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. He was installed during the associations 88th National Convention in Spokane, Wash. In the coming year, LeClaire will serve as a member of the association’s National Board of Directors for 2015-2016, representing FRA shipmates who reside in Utah, Colorado, Nevada (with the exception of Las Vegas) and parts of Northern California.

LeClaire spoke of his upcoming term, saying, “I’m proud to be a member of this association and honored to be the Regional President for the West Coast Region.”

LeClaire has been a member of the FRA since 1972 and is currently a member of FRA Branch 192 in Fallon. He has held numerous leadership positions at the local, regional and national levels of the organization, including his service as branch president (1991-1992 and 1996-1997), as the association’s national chaplain (2007-2008) and as the association’s West Coast Regional president (2010-2011).

LeClaire enlisted in the U.S Navy in 1966, and his military career included assignments at several naval air stations and vessels. He achieved the rank of PO1 before retiring from the Navy in 1987. His personal decorations include the Humanitarian Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.

LeClaire currently works for the Churchill Area Regional Transportation (CART) services.
