Nevada employment security officials are working to fix a glitch in the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance computer system.
A spokesman said the system is issuing “new claim” notifications to existing claimants. It prompts existing claimants to file a new claim rather than a weekly certification for Jan. 24.
The system also notes that there is a two-week waiting period to file a weekly certification. The spokesman said that is incorrect.
DETR officials say they will identify and fix all of the incorrect claims and claimants don’t need to do anything with the notifications.
