Partnership Carson City is conducting its bi-annual drug roundup Saturday, April 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to raise awareness around the impacts of keeping unused and expired prescription drugs in households.
The bi-annual event is designed to protect vulnerable populations in the community through education about proper disposal of unused or expired prescription drugs, over-the-counter products, prescription liquids, pet medications, and sharps (syringes). The effort is part of the federal drug round-up initiative.
The round-up will take place at four locations in Carson City:
Save Mart Supermarkets, located at 3620 N. Carson St., and 4348 S. Carson St.; Smith’s Food & Drug Store at 559 E. William St.; and FoodMaxx at 3325 Highway 50 East.
At-home drug disposal kits will also be available. The kits provide an option for proper disposal at home and are safe for trash disposal. Medicine lock boxes are available as well as medical and commercial cannabis lock bags. Both are offered free of charge.
