Energy Drink Outlet, a Northern Nevada business, is hoping to set up shop on Corbett Street in Carson City. Owners Ryan and Anna Payne say they want to open a retail site for energy drinks and disc golf equipment, while simultaneously filling their ecommerce orders.
But in February, the Carson City Business License Division denied their application, saying the proposed business plan is too similar to a warehouse, which is not allowed at the parcel.
The Board of Supervisors will review the disagreement at their meeting on Thursday.
The appeal will not be heard until 1:30 p.m., but the meeting will start at 8:30 a.m. in the Robert “Bob” Crowell Board Room at the Community Center on 851 E. William St.
The board may also
• Continue a discussion on how to add clarity to the Carson City ordinance on administrative appeals. They may enact changes to the ordinance in a first reading.
• Hear complaints and “Hardship Determination” cases from the Downtown Neighborhood Improvement District and South Carson Neighborhood Improvement District. They may levy assessments for both districts.
• Extend the deadline for an affordable housing project on Butti Way to start construction.
• Adopt a fee schedule for copies of public records.
Those who wish to provide public comment may do so at the meeting or in advance to publiccomment@carson.org.
The meeting will be streamed live at www.carson.org/granicus and on cable channel 191.
The Carson City Charter Review Committee will also meet next week in the Crowell Board Room on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
They will continue a discussion on whether to change the mayor’s emergency powers as outlined in the Carson City Charter.
