Nevada alumnus Daiyan Henley was selected by the Los Angeles Chargers with the 85th overall pick, in the third round on Friday's second day of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Henley, an inside linebacker, spent five years (2017-21) at Nevada and played in 49 games for the Wolf Pack, during which he was selected to the 2021 All-Mountain West Second Team.  He spent his final season of eligibility at Washington State in 2022.

Henley spent his first two seasons in Reno primarily as a wide receiver, and played some defense in 2018 before moving to linebacker full-time ahead of the 2019 campaign.

On offense, Henley caught 17 passes for 232 yards and three touchdowns, while on defense, he finished his Wolf Pack career with 160 tackles, leading the team with 103 in 2021.

In his breakout 2021 season, Henley led all linebackers nationally with four interceptions, and scored two defensive touchdowns.

The first of those came on a 50-yard pick-six in the Pack's win over UNLV, and the second a 56-yard fumble return to open the scoring in Nevada's 27-24 win over San José State. He posted five games with double-digit tackles, topping out with 12 against New Mexico State, and made 3.0 tackles-for-loss on the year.
