On Dec. 14, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers and Partnership Carson City conducted an alcohol compliance check, and two businesses in Carson City failed the check, according to a news release by CCSO.

“This was conducted with the support of three volunteers ranging from 18 to 20 years old,” said the release. “They were sent to local businesses that sell alcohol in an attempt to purchase alcohol. In total, eight businesses were screened during the compliance check, and two failed. Compliance checks are conducted to keep alcohol out of the hands of minors.”

Cited for failing the compliance check were:

• RK Food Mart, 500 Hot Springs Road

• Winnie Discount Liquor, 262 W. Winnie Lane

“The Carson City Sheriff’s Office and Partnership Carson City remind businesses to be diligent in checking identification to ensure those purchasing alcohol are 21 years of age or older,” according to the release. “It is Nevada law to check identification when selling or serving alcohol.”
