15 Carson businesses pass alcohol compliance checks

On Feb. 22, all 15 local businesses passed alcohol compliance checks in Carson City.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office and Partnership Carson City sent minor decoys into businesses and all of them checked identification properly and denied the sale of alcohol, according to a news release.

Partnership Carson City, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, and School Resource Officers offer a Responsible Beverage Server Training course for anyone who sells and/or serves alcohol, tobacco, or marijuana products in Carson City.

The next Responsible Beverage Server Training course takes place from 4- 6 p.m. on April 18. The cost is $20.

The course is open to anyone who wants to learn about enforcing underage drinking laws in Carson City and is conducted at the Partnership Carson City office, 1925 N. Carson St.

Per the Carson City Municipal Code 4.13.170, anyone who sells or serves alcohol is legally required to complete the training. The webinar includes alcohol awareness and reviews the Carson City laws for selling or serving liquor, marijuana, and tobacco as well as how to spot a fake ID and how to be aware of the levels of impairment.
