Kyle Allen, a freshman at Carson High School, won the Lions Clubs District 46-Nevada Zone 1-C speaker competition held Feb. 18 in the Ormsby Room at the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.

He was sponsored by the Carson City Host Lions Club and was awarded a stipend of $125. Allen is a member of the Carson High Speech and Debate Team coached by Patrick Mobley.

The topic of the contest was “How Can America Find Unity During Polarizing Times?”
