The public is invited to the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada in Carson City 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday for a night of dancing, refreshments and hor d’oeuvres as a fundraiser for a memorial exhibit.

The Friends of the Nevada State Museum is hosting an adult prom, "Dancing through the Decades," in collaboration with the Children’s Museum and the Carson High School’s leadership and culinary programs catering the event.

This past summer, the director of the State Museum, Josh Bonde, his wife, Becky Hall, director of the Children’s Museum, and two of their daughters, Nola Belle and Keira, were involved in a car accident. They were all seriously injured, and Nola Belle lost her life in the accident. Nola was a fourth-grader at Bordewich Bray Elementary and "brought kindness and joy to everyone around her. Nola was passionate about animals, art, music and creating friendships," according to Hall.

Proceeds from the prom will be donated to the Children’s Museum for the development of a new exhibit in Nola’s name. Tickets can be purchased online, www.cmnn.org, or at the State Museum or Children's Museum.

Attendees are encouraged to dress in attire from their favorite decade. Advance tickets required.
