Spring has sprung at the Fallon Theatre and we have two fantastic movies for this weekend.

For the children, we will be showing a Disney classic, “Brother Bear,” at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. We apologize in advance but due to contractual issues, the admission for Brother Bear will be $1 and all Disney movies that we show.

Brother Bear is about a young Inuit hunter Kenai who needlessly kills a bear in retaliation for one that kills his older brother. As a punishment, Kenai is magically turned into a bear so he can see life from a different perspective. He encounters a younger bear, Koda, a talkative cub being his only guide to changing back to a human.

Our second movie, “A Fistful of Dollars,” stars Clint Eastwood and will be shown for free Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. Eastwood plays a wandering gunfighter called A Man with No Name who rides into San Miguel, a border town. He sees an opportunity to make a quick profit by playing against two rival families, the Baxters and Rojos. These two feuding families fight for control in a town torn apart by greed, pride and revenge. No Name is right in the middle hoping to score a fistful of dollars.

On Saturday from noon to 3:30 p.m., the Fallon Theatre will host Heritage of the West event. Admission is free, and it will feature Native American dancers, cowboy poetry, Chautauqua, western songs, Mexicana dance group, old classic country songs and much more. On April 20, the Fallon Theatre will host Hillsdale College’s Constitution 101 video lecture series. Sponsored by the Churchill County Republican Women, admission is $15 for adults, and students are free. The event begins at 9 a.m. and continues until 4 p.m. Lunch will be provided by Getto Subs.

On April 27 at 6 p.m., we will show “Tahoe Joe 2” featuring some local cast and crew.

In this sequel to the 2022 film Tahoe Joe, a popular social media influencer goes missing in the Tahoe National Forest. Filmmakers Michael Rock and Dillon Brown set out on a rescue mission but get more than they bargained for when returning to the famous hunting grounds of Tahoe Joe. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for children 12 and under and active military.
