The Carson City Symphony, conducted by David Bugli and Brian Fox, will begin rehearsals for its April 28 concert Wednesday from 6:20 to 8:30 p.m. at the Carson High School band/orchestra room, 1111 N. Saliman Road.

The concert, "We Got Rhythm,” features music of George Gershwin with piano soloist Alexander Tutunov. The program includes Rhapsody in Blue, "I Got Rhythm" variations, Porgy and Bess Medley, and more.

The symphony is open to string players at any time without audition, and to other instrumentalists when positions are available. Current openings are for strings, clarinet, and trumpet as well as potentially, alto and tenor saxophones on two pieces.

The concert will be on Sunday, April 28 at 4 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center. Lobby entertainment will begin at 3 p.m.
