As part of its Carson CARES campaign, Greater Nevada Credit Union recognized Carson City School District employees who exemplified positivity in school and made a difference in their school community this past year. Five grand prizes were awarded in which winners received a $500 donation for their classroom or program as well as a $100 gift certificate or gift card to their favorite local restaurant.

Additionally, out of all the nominees, one individual was selected in a random drawing to win a hosted pizza party for their classroom or team, valued up to $400.

More than 115 nominations were submitted. Winners include:

• Kendra Tuttle, Carson High early childhood teacher

• Kimberly Shepherd, student support services adaptive physical education teacher

• Tara Rispin, Eagle Valley Middle School seventh and eighth grade science teacher

• Nicole Sitton, Fritsch Elementary social worker and Safe School professional

• Ryan Mick, Fremont Elementary CLS and special education teacher

Stephanie Walker at Pioneer Academy also was awarded a lunch party worth $400 for her school.

GNCU’s Carson Cares campaign is designed to help district employees achieve a stronger foundation of financial wellness for greater opportunities with access to tailored benefits.
