The weekend-long snow storm impacted the start to spring sports.

While Fallon’s track team was able to host its season-opening meet before the storm reached its peak, the Greenwave baseball team played only one game, a 6-4 win over Carson, in the Mike Bearman Memorial Tournament while Oasis Academy’s softball team squeezed in a few games to win the Hawthorne tournament after most of the teams pulled out. The swim team pivoted from its original plans of going to North Tahoe and stopped in Fernley instead for its first meet.

Opening the season this week will be the Greenwave softball team, which is scheduled to play at South Tahoe for a doubleheader on Saturday, and Oasis Academy’s baseball team, which hosts Incline. The girls lacrosse team hosted Spanish Springs on Wednesday to open its season.

The following schedule is for Churchill County and Oasis Academy prep sports from March 7-13. Home CCHS baseball and softball games are at the Edward Arciniega Athletic Complex.
